ABOUT ME (my interests, my books, my ezine)
I’ve sure been around the traps and done all sorts of things in my lifetime.
My mother hailed from Romany Gypsy Irish and Scottish stock and she herself was a ‘medicine woman’ who taught me so much. She taught me how to do CARTOMANCY READINGS as well as how to do what she called SAFE AND TRUE MAGIC.
These days I have developed my own system of using MAGICAL BLESSINGS.
Unfortunately she died young and I have spent most of my adult life without her guidance. One thing she taught me that has held for all of my life was, “to find things out for myself’. So I have never studied mystical arts or spiritual things under the guidance of any other Masters or Mistresses, or by following a particular discipline – which is quite different to saying that no-one has taught me much about the knowledge and practices that I now hold dear and true. Everything I have learned I have learned through my own direct experience.
So – if you ask me about ‘so and so’ or about a ‘particular spiritual book’ the chances are I have not read it myself – but instead have learned the principles through my own direct experiences. She taught me to experience all things spiritual in a very and personal direct way.
There have been many important spiritual influences in my life and one the most far-reaching and significant ones has been (and still is) my contact with the first people of this land that now owns me. I have been accepted by many Aboriginal families through many tribal regions as ‘one of their own’, and this truly is the most major influence in my life. I am passionate about Indigenous issues – and the implications they have for mankind and for our earth.
I have worked much within Indigenous contexts for more than a decade now and I now have a very wide circle of Indigenous friends. You can read more about how they have influenced me in other pages in my web here. INDIGENOUS AUSTRALIA has many important things to teach and share with us all.
I would like to share with you now an experience I had when I was first taken ‘out bush’ with an Indigenous elder. On my way to meet her I traveled through the Australian desert on very rough and un-serviced roads. On the way to my meeting with MAUREEN RUHLE (married name YOUNG) of the Njardu tribe my car was struck by lightning twice. And for the first time on this journey traversing the desert I saw indigenous spirits.
Now – I have been struck by lightning on a number of occasions. Well – my house or my car gets struck. People ask me what it is like. Well – what can I say ? It is very bright and very loud and very energizing and it happens just before my life undergoes great changes. And on the way to meet this Njardu elder medicine woman I was struck twice in one afternoon – so I was really wondering what lay ahead of me J
Well – I describe my first meeting this way; we traveled along the main Australian highway that links Western Australia to the eastern states via the vast Nullabor desert. It was like going to ‘tree number 1437’ and then turning into the scrub and winding through in a particular weaving fashion. No marked roads, etc. And as soon as we turned off the main road I saw like a young, fit and athletic young messenger boy spirit running ahead to tell the guardian spirits that we were approaching.
We duly arrived at a sacred rock hole and sacred singing and dancing site where Maureen danced and sang to the guardian spirits. What I saw next was something that I had never seen before, and that has very much shaped my life goals and understanding of this earth of ours.
The whole place became alive with spirits. They responded to her songs and to her dance. Never before had I seen the earth respond so clearly to human interaction. This experience clearly showed me the importance of ABORIGINAL LAW-LORE and how sacred Indigenous practices can revive and help save our ailing planet.
I am currently writing an important book with an elder from the western desert called “WAYS OF THE WILJA”. This book is written in dialogue form and highlights and shares the importance of sacred practices. Indeed we are planning to conduct regular SACRED SESSIONS so that you may join us to deepen your understanding of both yourself and your relationship to our earth.
I have written a number of BOOKS - and am currently preparing others for publication.
